What the…? There’s a NaNoDrawMo now, too?
You know, I was pretty familiar with NaNoWriMo. As a blogger, I became aware of NaNaBloMo, which is sorta like NaNoWriMo except you try to write blog posts in the same amount of words. (As someone who’s dabbled in both, the blogging one is much, much easier.) Last year, someone informed me about growing facial hair in November… which I must say, is pretty, pretty dumb. Why wait until November to grow a majestic beard, amirite fellas?
But now WordPress informs me of something called NaNoDrawMo?
From WordPress: “…illustrators and artists also took part in NaNoDrawMo, which challenged participants to produce a minimum of 50 new works between November 1 and 30.”
So… why the obsession with generating works in what’s the most inconvenient month on the calendar? Some of us want to celebrate Black Friday, ya know.
Anyway, WordPress includes a selection of some of the entrants, a few of which tried their hand at creating comics. Aaron Guile at Our Process drew some guys with pyramid heads. Easily Emused tried something that looks like Hyperbole and a Half. Pete Scully did some really lush illustrations of everyday items.
Anyway, now all you aspiring webcomic creators have some sort of excuse one month a day to churn out 50 original works. Get to plannin’ your schedule around Black Friday, yo!
