Something truly unique; the creme de la creme; either makes you wish someone got kicked off the newspaper funny page to make way for this awesomeness or angry that some big name comic publisher hasn’t picked the creator up for a contract (if they haven’t yet). Money in the bank. (Examples: Achewood, Gunnerkrigg Court.)

While a little flawed, still thoroughly enjoyable and worth visiting voer and over again; gives reader the urge to buy writer a beer or a Coke, depending on writer’s age and tastes. (Examples: The Adventures of Dr. McNinja, Erfworld.)

Pretty much middle of the road; Can’t really say it’s terrible or spectacular; does not inspire me to particularly want to revisit the series, but I won’t be kicking and screaming if I had to; the Jean August Ingres of webcomics. (Examples: What Birds Know, Last Blood.)

A webcomic doomed by its fatal flaws; however, all is not lost and a little improvement could make the comic at least adequate; contains some redeeming quality that prevents me from saying that it’s the worst thing ever. (Examples: Alpha Shade, Cheshire Crossing.)
