Learn the sordid story of how she broke with her Trek upbringing and her husband’s plan to bring Star Wars to the children. Also, the secret of why Star Wars is still a … ahem … force to be reckoned with today.
I know exactly why, and it’s because of George (Lucas). People rip on him, but he’s brilliant, because he revamped it, not just with the rerelease of the movies with little changes, but with the Clone Wars cartoon. He brings it out to every new generation in a new form, so of course us old hacks have to go see it, and we take the next generation to see it. So he keeps introducing the next generation to it, and each one keeps getting obsessed with it. Right now, at this convention, you have so many little boys, 7, 8, 9, 10 years old, walking around dressed as Boba Fett and stormtroopers, and they love the Clone Wars right now. And I’ve seen so many girls dressed as Asohka, and they’re obsessed with it. That was brilliant on George’s part: He didn’t have any more movies to put out, so they put out this series which is great, and now he has this little group of nerds walking around that are going to be at Celebration 35 when they’re my age, obsessed with it and introducing their kids to it.

I’m wondering if Ms. Cook didn’t want the word “Death” to show up on a poster made for little kids. Still, putting in Darth Maul in that slot is not the best trade off, I admit.
