In case you missed it: FoxTrot does webcomics

In case you missed the funny papers, here’s Sunday’s FoxTrot:

So… what’s the Ecstacy of Tech supposed to be about? Anyway, it’s good for a chuckle. Even more if you interpret this as Bill Amend getting on the whole “Webcomics are woefully derivative” bandwagon (popularly espoused by Homestar Runner and, recently, Yahtzee Croshaw).

EDIT: So I read the comments on gocomics.com, and it looks like that last one is a reference to The Joy of Tech. Frankly, I think it would’ve been more culturally relevant if Amend did a spoof of Dinosaur Comics. :)

  1. I agree, Qwantz would have been much better. “The Joy of Tech” does… not seem to be up to par with the other webcomics on there.

I still giggled like a schoolgirl when I saw this in the paper.

  2. That’s awesome how you have the feeds listed for various blogs. I hope it’s recent because I never noticed it before! I’ve been behind the curve on the potential of feeds since day one. Among other things.

  3. Wow! Thanks a lot. I thought I was up on webcomics with RSS feeds from Hero by Night, Dilbert, Simply Sarah and Kiss 4K in Outlook. I didn’t have the slightest idea what this was about. Of course, now that I’ve read them, I think three of them are filthy and one is too obscure for non-Mac users. Foxtrot FAIL.

  4. You know, I hadn’t thought of it that way. I guess you’re right: even xkcd can be vulgar at times. However, there is a reason Bill Amend chose these webcomics. xkcd, Penny Arcard, and PvP represent the webcomics with the highest number of visits. Xkcd is the most read, Penny Arcade occupied the top spot for several years (and is still usually the #3 most read webcomic), and PvP is usually hanging around somewhere in the top ten.
