Were you seriously not aware that the characters are more at home in the zombie-infested wasteland than back in civilization? They’re all emotionally scarred, socially maladapted youths who just want to kids. With no other recreational activities, the wasteland *is* their video game. They have nothing and no one to go home to at the end of a mission, but this is their only purpose. So out in the field killing zombies is the only place where they can be normal, and jaded as they are to death and other terrors, there will be joking around, there will be attempts to make light of a serious situation and sometimes strive for their lost innocence.

The fact that you missed the significance of this suggests your analytical skills are lacking and you aren’t qualifed to be critiquing the works of others.

I really agree with this review, i made a simple comparision with other webcomics on how much story they had presented by page 64. Zombie Hunters hadn’t gone any where far, the other webcomics i enjoyed had churned out a lot of food for thought and much more entertainment.

While I respect your right to your own opinion but to bring up misleading facts to support your view is not quite right. for example Charlie is immune and can walk through the masses of zombies….well this might have something to do with the fact that he IS A ZOMBIE a topic that is emphasized by jenny yelling at him about this all the time. I recognize that yes you may not have enjoyed it and wanted to express that but please ensure that you do not fault the author for plot twists that you may have missed

Finally, someone with a negative comment about this comic! I’ve always been a sucker for a comic with good artwork but I could never stand Zombie Hunters. I always thought the characters seemed unrealistic and suspected they were possibly some sort of Mary-Sue versions of the artist’s friends (I’ve had friends who have done this, they never get my weapon of choice right). IT does seem to be shaping up a little but I’m still not impressed enough to even find when it updates. I’m very picky about what goes on my “list”.

I like some of the points you brought up of how this comic represents the zombies when people aren’t around and the almost innocence about them. I may have to revisit the early parts of this comic just for that.

I do hope the comic shapes up, through all it’s faults it does have a little originality to offer the zombie genre.

Hey, guys, thanks for your input on this. I’m not going to add much more, since I’m pretty sure I captured my entire opinion in the above piece, even if we’re not in agreement on many points.

Now, I may have to concede here, like Aphrixis implied, that I may not be the target audience. However, I have read many webcomics targeted toward the pre-teen to teen crowd that handled the drama/comedy/action aspect much more deftly that The Zombie Hunters had. There were several incongruences that sorta derailed the story for me. (Again, detailed in above review in excess.)

Generally, I’m the sort of guy who sighs and rolls his eyes when a character from a purportedly serious anime shows up wearing a headband with cat ears. Probably OK for its target audience, mindboggingly headscratching for me. I’d be absolutely lying if I never said that kind of thing bothered me.

I’m a big fan of TZH, but I guess it’s all a matter of what one expects to find in such a story to start. I’ll grant you that the excess of videogame references is annoying, but for the rest.. a matter of tastes. The mix drama/action/comedy is tricky and the result can’t appeal to all publics at once, but can it really be that bad?

I guess your opinion is your own, though I think you’re in your own little bubble here. I enjoyed the webcomic since the first pages. The characters were well-thought out to me. The story is great, especially if you look between the lines and see how well-planned out everything is.

But again…I’ll leave you in your bubble.
