Metapost: Short Hiatus
March 25, 2008 at 10:09 am | In The Webcomic Overlook, metapost, webcomics | 4 CommentsThe Webcomic Overlook will be on a short hiatus. No reviews for two weeks! This is mainly because I’ll be out of town this weekend. And by out of town, I mean flying from one coast to the other.
Also, I had initially planned to review Exiern, but Ted David of the “Your Comic is Bad and You Should Feel Bad” elders beat me to the punch. Normally, this wouldn’t bother me, but he basically said everything that I was going to say. Plus, he made the astute observation that the comic seems to be made only to make the creator money (including a pay section for illustrations that are probably not worth it). That bums me out. I may review Exiern some time down the road, but David was pretty much on the money.
(A very telling sign: no one in the comments section actually bothered to defend this comic. This is a rarity on the “Your Webcomic is Bad…” site. I mean, there were defenders there for Shredded Moose. Shredded Moose!)
When I get back, I’ll get a whole slew of new reviews out. I plan on reviewing The Phoenix Requiem for ComixTalk. On this site, I’m hoping to tackle a few fantasy-themed comics.
Anyway, to keep you busy, here’s the top 10 most read reviews on this site (not counting the stats for when I was posting on Rooktopia):

As a connaiseur of webcomics, I would place Scott Ramssomair’s VGCATS much higher!
Comment by Ed Malleck — March 25, 2008 #
For someone who would have badmouthed Exiern, it’s amusing that one of the images on your banner was lifted from one of it’s pages.
Comment by Gozer Sousa — May 31, 2008 #
I guess it is! Truth be told, that banner was a roster of webcomics that I had planned on reviewing at some point in the future, good or bad. I think I covered most of the except for Beaver & Steve, Girl Genius, Eegra, and the aforementioned Exiern.
